About Phoenix Public Library

In April 1987, the voters of the Village of Phoenix established the Phoenix Public Library District, with a simple purpose: to provide library services for all residents of the Village. Every resident of Phoenix is eligible for a library card — one that also works at any library in the RAILS Library System across Illinois.

Community Program: Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Phoenix Public Library is proud to partner with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library — a program that mails a free, high-quality book to enrolled children every month, from birth until their 5th birthday, at no cost to families regardless of income. Registration takes just a few minutes.

Community Program: Senior Wednesdays

Join us every Wednesday afternoon from 1:45–3:30 PM for Senior Wednesdays — a weekly gathering where adults can connect, create, and have fun together. Activities change monthly and have included games like Pokeno, seasonal crafts, movie days, and themed parties. Stop by the library or contact us to find out what’s happening this month.
